I am a small town Alabama girl with big dreams! I now reside in my hometown with my husband, Zack. I love being a full-time emergency department registered nurse all while enjoying married life, being my sweet niece's "Honey" and my little brother's biggest cheerleader during his football games at the University of South Alabama!
I graduated as Valedictorian of Wadley High School in 2008. While in high school, I dual-enrolled at Southern Union State Community College where I completed most of prerequisites prior to continuing my education at Auburn University in the fall of 2008.
My dream came true when I began Auburn University's School of Nursing in the fall of 2009. During my 248 hour preceptorship in the emergency department at Coosa Valley Medical Center in Sylacauga, AL I was offered a full-time registered nursing position which I accept4ed. I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing on May 9, 2011, passed my Alabama boards and began my first real nursing job in the ER at CVMC.
The ER is equipped to provide quality care to the critically ill patient. Physician coverage is provided 24-hours a day by a group of physicians specializing in emergency medicine and our nurses posses the most current and accurate knowledge with certifications such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Trama Nurse Core Certification to help patients in their time of need. The department consists of 13 beds which allows us to treat a wide variety of emergent, urgent and non-urgent illness or injury.
I am a highly motivated team player who is dependable, trustworthy, and caring. I feel that throughout my education and clinical experience I have also nurtured qualities such as being resourceful, adaptable and self-directed with the ability to use critical thinking strategies, organization skills, and effective therapeutic communication.
